To provide education up to Class VIII and Vocational Training as Tailoring, Knitting Embroidery and Book binding for Hearing impaired children and Rehabilitation by help in employment and arrange marriages.
Established in 1968, the Prag Narain Mook Badhir Vidyalaya Samiti began with humble beginnings, based on free imparting of primary education through lip-reading and total communication methods. No fees were charged, and this still continues from 1975 the Government of India began giving the society an annual grant which enabled the school greatly to increase its enrolment and employs larger staff. We are collect donations and contribution by our society and public.
We cater to deaf children In Aligarh city, which has the population of over a million, currently, we have 105 pupils and teach up to class VIII through 8 teachers/instructors. Last year all the Nine children in Class VIll passed the middle school examination of Basic Education Board. We also provide computer- training to help our pupils in getting better employment. We teach tailoring and Embroidery to girls and Binding to the boys for the same purpose.
We have done our best to get as many deaf children educated as possible, paying special attention to girls whose number 26 in our present enrolment, while 16 belong to the scheduled Castes. We have also a good proportion of minority children. We are proud that bulk of our children comes from the poorer strata
National Integration Camp and Educational Tours are being organized by our School/Samiti all over India at various Historical places under the government of India scheme of Ministry of Culture, from time to time at the places i.e Almora, Ranikhet, Nainital, Shimia, Delhi, Agra, Mathura, Dehradun, Chennai, Banglore, Madurai, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Allahabad, Lucknow, Narora. We are helping for rehabilitation to disabilities by our contribution and guidance in arranging their marriage and mainly in getting Jobs/Services.
Our Principal awarded by President of India National award 2001 for excellent work in the field of Rehabilitation for Disabled persons and awarded by Governor of Uttar Pradesh for state Award 1999 for excellent work for Rehabilitation of Disabilities.
Our school recognized by Basic Education Department of Uttar Pradesh government up to Junior High School. The school is selected by the government of India. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of persons with Disabilities. New Delhi within 158 institutions of Country of India for GOOD TRACK RECORDS OF 5 YEARS vide their DO Letter No. 41-1/93/HW-II dated 21:10.1994.
