Our History

Established in 1967, Prag Narayan School for the Deaf began its inspiring journey with a humble yet powerful promise — to educate and empower children who could not hear or speak, but whose dreams were louder than any sound.

Located in the historic city of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, the school started with just five children, limited resources, and an unwavering belief that every child deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope.

Communication was a challenge, infrastructure was modest, but the vision was extraordinary. From the very beginning, the mission went beyond academics. The institution embraced a deeper commitment — to nurture confidence, independence, and the art of living with courage.

For over 55 years, this promise has been honored with dedication, compassion, and resilience. The school has not only educated minds but transformed lives, giving children the strength to dream fearlessly and step into the world with pride.

“It is not the absence of sound that defines a child, but the presence of belief, dignity, and opportunity.”

Honored with Prestigious Recognitions

In 1999, the school was honored by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh for its exceptional contribution to special education.
In 2001, the Principal received the National Award from the President of India, recognizing decades of selfless service.

More Than a School — A Movement of Hope

Prag Narayan School for the Deaf is not merely an educational institution; it is a lifeline of hope, a sanctuary of empowerment, and a beacon of possibility.

It is a place where silence finds expression, where limitations transform into strengths, and where children are taught not just to learn — but to believe.

Here, dreams are not whispered; they are nurtured, celebrated, and turned into reality.
